Is my betta sick?

Hi all, I just had to tear down and redo my 5 gallon. I put my betta in there(he came from a 1 gallon bowl) I thought he would love it cause of all the room but he is hiding and sleeping alot. Also he has gone from eating like 7-10 "betta pellets" once a day to eating 1-2 pellets a day and he looks likes he dosent want to really eat those. Is he ok, any opinions

My best guess is that your betta is suffering from ammonia poisoning. From what I am reading your 5 gallon aquarium hasn't been cycled.

Have you tested the water to make sure that everything is normal?

Yeah I did the ammonia is 0 and nitrites was at .25 so I did a WC but still same thing idk

I would keep up doing pwc to keep his levels safe for him, he could also be adjusting to his new tank.
