Is the eheim pickup 45 too strong for a 5 gallon tank with a betta in it?

I am planning to set up another aquarium . I was thinking about getting the eheim 45 for my five gallon but I am afraid that the current will be too strong.. (sorry for my bad english I hope u can understand..)
