Joshua Tree Root as driftwood?

Hi, I found an interesting piece of joshua tree root from a place selling wood for reptiles but I can't find much information about people using joshua tree root in aquariums. Does anyone know if it is safe to use submerged in my fresh water aquarium? Im worried about it rotting.

I've already boiled it and scrubbed it
