Just wondering how often i should clean my external filter

hiya, just wondering how often i i should clean my external filter or if i should replace it at some point

I rinse out my filter media every 4 to 6 weeks. Rinse out the hosing every 6 to 8 months and replace the o ring, impeller, impeller shaft and impeller cover every year. Im sure these could easily be doubled in length.

Replacement part schedule should be in your filter instruction manual, but these are way over the top and just to sell you parts. Im guilty of following it anyway.
