Keep biomedia wet

I sold my old filter and ordered my new one, but it won't be here for 2 days so until then can I keep my biomedia and Purigen inside my tank?

I'm not familiar with purigen, but you should be able to keep your biomedia in a pail with an airstone.

If it's rinsed well (so that it's not leaking sludge into the tank), I don't see a problem with keeping it in the tank- my main concern would be that filter sludge
