When tank water evaporates are nitrAtes ever taken with it? Just curious
 
the short answer is no.

the long answer is:
Evaporation is the result of H2O (water) being absorbed into the atmosphere, since only H2O is removed, the substances dissolved in the water actually will increase in concentration. Think of it like this, there are 50 grains of sand floating in 1 cup of water. Concentration is 50/cup. Take away half the water, and you're still left with 50 grains of sand, but now you have 1/2 the water. Concentration is now 50 per half cup or 100/cup.
These are extreme examples, but I hope you get the point.
