I'd say around 120 gallons, they get big, around 11-20 inches and eat smaller fish as well. That's JMO though.

A 3-foot/4-foot tank (40 gallon-90 gallons) can temporarily house small to medium size ghost knife.

But you will need to upgrade eventually to a 5-foot/6-foot tank (100+ gallons)
 
mine grew up in a 4 foot and recently has been moved to a 6x2, they definetly need a 6x2 when they get large

so jealous - I would love a 6 foot x 2 foot x 2 foot aquarium!!

I can think of soooooooo many combinations of fish.
A school of silver dollars (a mix of red hook, black bar, and spotted) would be my first choice!!
