Length of quarantine
Ok... so whats the general opinion on what is an acceptable time??? I have had my peacock eel in fishy jail for about 2 weeks... I think... Ya think its safe to toss him in with the rest of society? Hes healthy... voracious appetite and very active...

I'd say he's been in there long enough. I quarantine for 1-2 weeks, depending on how crowded it is. If I get a lot of fish at once and they look healthy after a week, I feel sorry for them and move them to the 75 gal. Probably shouldn't but it's been okay so far.

Quarantine time depends on what fish I get and where I get them from....usually at least two weeks, and sometimes as miuch as 6 weeks.

I would actually recommend keeping a fish in quarantine for a longer period next time. Three to four weeks would be a minimum based on my reading.

How necessary is quarntine? Do you really need to if the fish look healthy at the lfs? Wat size tank is good for it?
