liberated betta/20g/tankmates?

I've wanted to save a betta from a cup at Petsmart for some time now, Finally did it!

He's in his own 20g tall tank now and loves it. What are some tankmates i can put in with him?? Tank has many plants and 2 pieces of driftwood.

Not all bettas are happy with tank mates. You could try something like corys, which will leave him alone and not invade his usual territory in the tank.

I would try with neon tetras.

Stay away from anything with long tails or anything it could mistake as another betta.

Not necessarily, my daughter's betta lives with 2 black mollies and 2 glowlight tetras just fine. Going on a year now. Just be sure to have a backup plan in case they fight.
