Lid or no lid?

I was wondering if there's any effect on the aquarium if you have a lid or not.

Less evaporation in mine, lights sit on it and (almost) keeps the loaches from jumping out.

Defiantly a big difference in evaporation. I have a 65g that's been close to 90° for almost a week treating ick with a tight fitting lid. No water loss to evap. 29g tank with mollies in it hovering around 72° with no top has dropped close to 2" this week

So I'm better off with a lid. I'm trying to find a lid with led lights. Seems like they only come strip.

Better off buying a glass top and aftermarket led rig to sit on top.
