Aquarium lighting has always been the bane of my life. I can never get units or fixtures to fit hoods without butchering things (either the hood or the unit).

Anyway, there's no quick fix so I'm going to have to continue down the DIY route for now.

I wanted to know: is there a safe-to-use superglue that is for aquarium use? For example, I'd like to glue light fixtures to a tank I'm piecing together.

I obviously don't want to kill any inhabitants I add later on.

Well, the silicone I have is more rubbery than gluey if that makes sense. I use it to stick rocks together, but it'd be too loose I think for sticking the light fittings to the top of a plastic hood :(

check through the planted section heres there are some links to DIY kits and what not. also have you looked into the strip lights with legts to hold over the tank?
