Lighting question.

Ok we'll today I went through my lighting fixture on my tank. Which is a simple T8 bulb. Well once I got to the bones of the system. It was a mess rust everywhere dirt it has even warped where the heat got a little to warm for the hood. Ok so here's the question. Should I change to LEDs. I know how to change over to them but should I. If so how many LEDs would I need to light my 25 gallon and keep my plants growing great. Which are a amazon sword and a tiger lotus. Please help me make a decision.

Thanks.
