Live, Wild Grown Mosquito Larvae. Good to feed with?

Without thinking, I left a 5gal bucket set out in the backyard upright and it filled with rainwater and now has a whole messload of Mosquito Larvae in it.

My question is.. Could I scoop out the larvae, rinse them off, and dump them in my tanks for a nice little snack for my fishes?

You could. Here are some links on live foods:
http://freshaquarium.about.com/cs/crustaceans/

I haven't done enough reading on it, but I'm scared to feed wild caught food to my fish. Mosquito larvae especially scares me because of the disease mosqiuos carry. Maybe I am overly cautious though...

Send a message via MSN to sumphead
another fear is if your fish don't eat them, or all of them. Bzzzzzz ouch!

Yeah, I read up about raising them and it just creeped me out so bad, lol. I think the only thing I can handle is shrimp and worms... nothing that can fly.

What was in the bucket prior, and does your area spray for mosquitos?

If It was a new bucket, or only used for tank water and there is no exposure to pesticides, they should be fine to feed to your guys

As long as it hasn't been exposed to pesticides, I say go for it
