thats a lot of space but it depends on the space because some killies are particularly aggresive and will nip the betta till it dies its better just having killi only tank
The lyretail killis are a peaceful fish BUT the betta might see them as a threat and attack them. From what I've seen anything with a flowing tail is a potential target for a betta which the lyretail killis surely have.

I only have experience with golden killies, although they were super nippy. Even with tetras. But I'm not sure about lyre tails. I wouldn't try it though. If you do, have a backup plan.
My lyretails have been model citizens but bettas.. not soo much.
All bettas are different, and have different personalities. once and a while I get a mean one. But that doesn't usually happen. most male bettas are very peaceful.

Granted. But I'm worried about the betta mistaking a lyretail for another betta.
Thanks all.
My betta is a temperamental little fish so I'm sure there will be problems!
Already constructing him a nice new tank. I would hate to see the kilis picking on him.
If he's a good boy he might even get a lady friend in there with him.

Ah, I see. All I could say is give it a try and have a backup plan. Most bettas I've had seem to mistake the face more for another betta, rather than the tail. But I'd try it. Everyone told me no bettas with angels, and it worked out for me
