I currently have 3 harlequin rasboras with a betta and some shrimps in a 14 gallon tank planted tank (55lt gross measure..a little less taking in consideration the space occupied from the gravel). The front of the tank is 59cm long.
I was wondering if I should simply up the numer of the harlequin rasboras to 8 or if I can introduce some espei rasbora since they are smaller. Would they school togheter?
Any suggestion is welcomed. Thanks in advance.

I've kept about a dozen of each species together and they did fine but that was in a 40 gallon tank. I'd stick with 6-8 Harlequins for your tank.

I love my espeis, I was going to try and add some harlequins, but asked my lfs, and she said that the harlequins and espeis usually won't school together so I would just get more harlequins.

I had harlequin and espei in my 72 and they schooled together

In the end the store had only harlequin rasbora so I took 5 of them and now are schooling very well with the others.
