mollies aquarium salt?

I have 3 mollies in a community aquarium with some cherry barbs and diamond tetras and I read somewhere that mollies like a bit of salt in the water, im just looking for advice on whether I should put some aquarium salt in the tank or not?

Any help appreciated

They will be fine without it and the salt can hurt other fish. My Mom has several mollies with no salt and no problem.
