Moss or algae?

I found this stuff growing on my driftwood recently. I can't tell if it's moss (I have a java moss ball right next to the driftwood) or algae. I kinda like how it looks though, so I'm on the fence of getting rid of it.

EDIT: it's the stringy stuff on the small driftwood. The green dust on the bigger piece I know for a fact is algae.

Looks like java moss IMO.

Then you see it thrown in random tanks and before you know it.. It's an Afro.

Thanks everyone for the help. If it does grow as fast as some say it will, then everyone who said that they couldn't grow it may get a clump of it in the future if they want lol when it grows in
