Moving fish

So i recently picked up a 55 gallon tank. When i purchased it, i picked up an albino bristlenose pleco, about only a 1/3 of an inch long, and put it in my 20 gallon as it grew and was going to transfer it when it was big enough. Well, the 20gl tank now has ich, which im treating and seems to be going well. Once treatment is over, down the line when the BNP is big enough, will it still be safe to transfer it to a new tank? My issue is i dont have a QT to utilize or even the room to set one up to quarentine it before i transfer it.

If several weeks have passed with no sign of the ich in the 20g, then it should be safe to move him.
