So, for those of you who haven't seen me around (or read my threads), I've got a 5g and a 10g. The 5g is empty and the 10g has 1 skirt and 3 corys.

I was pretty sure I was going to give up fishkeeping after my tragedy....

I thought it was my fault, but my other 2 skirts lost both their eyes and their fins from (I think) rubbing themselves raw against their reflection at the bottom of the tank. I was out getting sand, and it happened while I was gone... It was both disturbing and pathetic watching them swirl around in the tank, alive but unable to live.... and I didn't want to euthanize them T_T

After that, a few of my friends encouraged me that it wasn't my fault and that I should keep going, so now I have sand in the tank along with a couple new fake plants and a rock/castle/thing. Skyrim came out (IT'S FANTASTIC) and whenever it autosaves, I go to check on them. That happens a lot for those of you with 0% gaming knowledge.

I didn't know where to put this, and I didn't want to necro my old threads after a week, so here you go. And some pictures :3

So to recap, I started decorating my 10g, it has 1 skirt and 3 Corys, and Skyrim rocks. If you wanna help me out and tell me what you think happened to my poor skirts (filter damage, nipping, reflection obsessing) then feel free :3 And if you wanna let me know that this is in the wrong place, or critique something about my posts, that's welcome too :3

Honestly, sorry to say, but I am guessing your skirt attacked each other and eat each others eyes out. I have seen the behavior in skirt tetras before. Of course, that is my guess based on my experience, so it may not be right, but thats what I think. I wouldn't recommend skirt tetras or that particular cory species for anything less than a 20g. Sorry if that is too blunt.
I really like the sand and the rocks. It looks like a really nice tank. There are lots of really cool that would really be able to thrive in cool tank like that. :)
Way to go in not giving up on the hobby! It can certainly be frustrating to lose fish, and especially in situations like you had. Way to go for giving it another try!
