My 180 Gallon Build

Update:

I finished cycling the tank. Performed a 50% water change and Nitrates are at 10 after the change. I am going to get some stock today and add to the tank. I am going to start light on the stocking. Probably go with some tetras or corys to start.

Here is a shot of my home made Python. It works very well. I also use it to pump out water from the tank for a PWC.

Remember you might want to QT those fish before putting them in your main tank. I would hate to see one of your new fish get sick and you have to do 50% water changes, as a part of your battle with the sickness. I like the progress though. Been following from the start.

Here is the link to the thread explaining how to do the sliding tops. I used 3/16 glass though. It is a lot more sturdy than 1/8.

I've got that in my 72g and liked it so much I bought another 200lbs for my 150g.

PWC time!!

Getting some algae growth in the tank. It is starting to mature a little. Georgia or George? is taking a look at the water hose wishing for some food.

I have some new stock for this tank in the QT. I'll snap some pics tomorrow and post them since it is supposed to be 97 degrees in Arkansas. Probably won't venture outside too much.

Side note. I think the angelfish took on a growth spurt since he/she has been in this bigger tank. Maybe it is the extra room........or maybe it just looks bigger in the tank......interesting.

Update:

I acquired some new stock. I have some Gold, Marble, Koi, and a Silver veil angels. There will be 8 total. They are out of QT and in the main tank. In the QT I have 12 Sterbai Corys and 6 Bloodfin Tetras. I am going to add 18 more Bloodfins when I can find more. I really like these tetras. I have never had them before. They school very tight even with only 6 in a 20 gallon QT. The new driftwood in the tank is what I found at Florida on vacation. It is a piece off a Live Oak tree. I am not gonna add anymore hardscape just plants. The tank is settling in nice and progressing very well!
