My Fire Eels doing well.... As well as my dojo...

It's been a while since I've posted pics, so here they are. I bought one in March 2005, and the other in May 2005. They were about 2-2.5 inches at the time. Currently they are over 13 inches and still growing, will probably hit 14 inches in the very near future. The dojo is going on 6 inches nw as well....

what are fire eels, are they a type of loach?

They are a fish, but look like an eel. They are not a true eel. No, they are not a loach either.

As for the cost, I can't remember how much they were, but they weren't expensive. But before you get any, make sure you plan on upgrading, as they do get to 44+ inches. I'm looking at a 265G tank down the road. As for co-existing, they get along great when young, but do get very aggressive to their own kind when they get bigger. Mine seem to be doing pretty well together so far, but if one wants something and so does the other, they do duke it out a little. And being both the same size, and both have the same attitude, there is no dominant one.
