My fish are currently eating the wood i have in the bottom of my tank. Okay, I think they're actually eating stuff that's growing on the wood. My questions:

1.Should I worry about what is growing on it? I can actually see the growth in a few places. It is whiteish with some dark areas, kinda like Lichen you see on rocks. Is this just nitrifing bactera taking host?

2.Should I cut back how much I feed them? I feed them once a day. Since they are eating all the time now, should I cut down on the amount or how frequently I feed?

Its probably fungus wx; likely not dangerous and if the fish like it (what kinda fish?) I don't think its a prob. You may want to remove and boil the driftwood if it gets worse tho; don't want the tank covered in fungus.

And no, once a day is fine. They are not getting all the nutrition they need from what they're picking off the driftwood.
