This is "Thriller," my new longfinned bristlenose Pleco.
It is literally the length of 2/3 my little finger.
I found it alone in a tetra tank at a store.

His fins are like the Charlie Brown Christmas Tree.

I put him in a 15 gallon with hornwort and ramshorn snails.

I am using melafix.

If anyone has any other tips, they are welcome.

He is a very active tiny guy. I plan to spoil him outrageously and hopefully keep him a long time.

Thanks! I just put one in and am waiting for him to be brave. :)
I have an albino in my 55 that has done very well, but that sure doesn't make me an expert...
And with him being so torn up I thought asking for tips was wise!

Here is "Angel."

I turned off the light so she would put her sails out. He he.

In general, ripped fins should heal up with very clean water. Watch out for signs of further deterioration that could indicate fin rot. Good luck with the little guy.

Nice little guy. Bristlenoses are my favorite, great size and shape :) .

He looks much better :) You must take really good care of him!

I am so excited about this success! I had him in a 15 gallon hospital tank. I keep ramshorn snails in it to keep it cycled.

I have it filtered for 20-30 gallons.

I kept the water very clean and he just healed. :)
I used melafix for the first week, then stopped because I had mixed opinions from people. The clean water worked just as well!

Today he joined an established community. He has been very active.
