After almost 20 yrs, I've have something that I've never seen before. It appeared overnight in my 55 gallon. It's in about one third of the tank, and it looks like it's frosted or snowed on my black gravel substrate. There are individual pieces on the front glass, that look a lot like feathery crystals...very thin. There are some pieces of slate that just have straight marks of the stuff about an inch long. All fish seem to be doing just fine.
Thanks a bunch,
Debbie

This may sound like an odd question but do you notice it moving around the tank/relocating? Does it resemble something like a spider web?

Hey,
I found and borrowed someone elses picture. It doesn't really look like a spiderweb to me. It looks more like crystals. BTW, this picture doesn't seem to have the substance on the gravels. Also, no movement...relocating.
