Need clarification please.

Did water changes 2 days back to back.

Day 1 was 25%

Day 2 was 50%

These were done due to ammonia levels. Everything is fine with ammonia now but I have a question. What happen to my Nitrates? There are non, do I need them? The test showed, almost a reading of slight orange but to hard to tell. To close to call. But it wasn't a true yellow nor a huge orange tint where I could call it.

Other times I had 5.0ppm or sometimes 10ppm.

pH is fine 7.6

Nitrites are good at 0

Ammonia is also 0

I thought I should always have a Nitrate level?

Please educate me on this.

If you've done 2 PWC in two days they might be too low for a reading. Nothing to worry about in a non planted tank
