I currently have a 40 litre tank with 7 molly fish in. I just got home and my mom had purchased 3 Japanese goldfish ( about 2 inches big ) and mixed them in the same tank. Is it safe to keep them in together ? I just inserted a submergible filter and its also running a gravel filter. Need opinions! Thank you - Jesse

Its not recommended mixing tropical and goldfish together, as it can create various problems, not to mention goldfish put out large amounts of waste.

Oh, moms.

Goldfish and mollies have very different needs, and your tank size and filtration are not up to all that the goldfish will dish out.

By the way, I love undergravel filters for a lot of reasons (mostly related to water flow), but they are really meant to be supplemental.

the tiny computer is full of delicion!
