So about 2 weeks ago I started noticing brown splotches on my planters pot decoration. Within two weeks it has spread to my fake plants, substrate, and even the glass. At first I thought it might be algea but now I'm not sure.

Does anyone have a clue what it might be? This tank is cycled and all my readings are ideal.

It looks like diatoms. How long has your tank been cycled? Mine is in the middle of the diatom outbreak that most new tanks go through.

This particular tank has been reading 0 nitrites and ammonia for almost a month now.

So are diatoms the consensus? If so, what can I do to treat it, or should I just let it run its course.
