Hey guys, just picked up a 55 gal off craigslist and now I'm kinda lost. I have a 20 gallon doing it's cycle right now and I had planned on just having that tank but now that I have a 55 I need to get some ideas of how to stock it. For my 20gal my plan was cardinal tetras/dwarf gourami/otto catfish/red cherry shrimp but now that I have a much bigger tank all that goes out the window. I'd like fish that aren't very aggressive cause I don't want to worry about having to separate potential problem fish. I also want to put a lot of live plants in, should I just stick with my community tank idea or does anyone have some cool ideas of what I could do?

Colorful, schooling fish look the best in a heavily planted tank, imo.

Some of my favorite schooling fish in a planted tank:
Cardinal tetras
glowlight tetras
rummynose tetras
Kerri tetras
emperor tetras

You could consider going with angels in the tank, if you want to make it a bit different than your other community tank.

I agree with all of those and IMO
Black Skirt Tetras
Red Minor Tetras(y)
