Has anyone else put neon tetras in with red cherry shrimp and had the following happen?
I primarily feed my tetras flake food and have algae wafers for my shrimp. A few days ago I noticed one of the neons poking at the wafer, biting off bits, and swimming away. The shrimp still dominated the feast.
As of today I dropped in the wafer and FIVE of the neon tetras came over, spooked the shrimp, and are all nose diving the wafer to break it apart and eat it.
Is this a sign that I'm under feeding them or are they just so ravenous that they'll go after algae wafers no matter what and I need to be more clever about placing the wafers in a cave or under some najas grass?
