would like idea for single species tank for my 29 gal. am pretty experienced with freshwater. will be doing a fishless cycle.

There has been quite a bit of talk lately about Blue Rams. A pair of Angels would be cool as well. With either of those choices I would also add a dwarf pleco of some sort and maybe someone to do some cleaning. Unless you are going aggressive?

I dont feel like pleco's or any algae eating fish are nessisary with proper maintance.. sorry had to say it..

I havnt had GBR's or any Ram's.. columbians are cool.. and my local pet store has some golden ones that look better then the pictures Ive seen of the GBR's..

If you have seen the golden ram's in your area.. I vote those..
columbians would be my second choice (since they are not quite as delicate as GBR's)
and if your water is pretty good out of the tap (very little if any N and PO4) then GBR's

dwarf gouramis are great! There are a few different kinds too!! I like angels also!
