New 35gal Hex for x-mas... need setup ideas

Hey All,

I just got a new 35gal hex tank for x-mas and would like to know how I should set it up. I am thinking I want a community tank with live plants. Just not sure what type of filtration I should go with?

Is this your first tank?

Personally, I am a huge fan of Bio-Wheel Filters. Both Penguin and Emporer are HOB Bio-Wheel filters. I have the Penguin brand on two of my planted tanks, and they are great! I have also heard good things about the Emporer Bio-Wheel filters.

This will be my first planted tank but I have had others in the past. I was thinking of getting a canister filter, what do you think?
