I was given a hex tank (approx 45 gal) that needs a canopy and filter system. What's the best type of set I should use? I currently use an Eheim 2213 for my 35 gal bow front and it works great! Should I combine on ewith an undergravel system? Any thoughts on fish species as this is a deep tank?

Thanks for any help!

Welcome to AA!

You don't need an undergravel system.. but thats a personal choice. None of my three tanks has one.

If you have the money to do so, then get another canister filter- i think they are great, too.

As for fish, do you want a few centerpiece fish, a bunch of little, schooling fish.. or a little bit of both?

Maybe a pair of angels, some bottom dwellers (like cories or otos), a red tailed black shark, maybe a dwarf gourami and a handful of schooling fish... or cherry/golden barbs
