Today i purchased a half moon betta and put it in my 2 gallon. ( please nobody tell me that its too small i am sick of hearing that) i am going out of town to houston until sunday. I will stop at the lfs there and pick up some gravel and decorations. Is there anything else i need? Thanks.

Is the tank cycled? You need a heater and filter
Also get smooth decor so the bettas fins don't get ripped

Yes the tank is cycled and i live in texas so its always hot!

Still grab a filter
I recommend live or silk plants and a small, smooth cave for him to hide in

:( they were just trying to help, you asked what else was needed but you didn't really give any details.

I second their suggestions, and is there any chance we can see a picture?

I knew about the smooth decorations and all i just wondered if there was anything small like what is the best food.

It really helps people to answer your questions when you are specific and actually say what you want to know, as well as be patient with them and try to be nice to everyone because we're all trying to help.
Now as far as food goes, I've only had bettas in community tanks so they ate pellets flakes and some or the bigger fishes frozen food.
