New filter - how long for bio filtration?

Hey everyone. I just got a new filter and I'm wondering how long I will have to run it before it has enough bb to run by itself.

Are you running your old filter beside it or feeding it bb from your old filter? If your seeding bb I would say one to two weeks. If not then I would say you will be recycling your tank right away

Let it run and forget about it for a while. Give a a chance. If it were me I'd leave it there until it bothers you. Think about it. Your getting added filtration!!

I run 2 HOB's on my tank.
