Im an avid fisher but I never thought about collecting a few plants and little bait fish for my 2.5.

Well I went bass fishing at a local pond and I was pleasantly suprised with the plants I came across. I got some bacopta, hydrocolite type plant and there endless amounts of pretty green moss.

Though my questions involves the little minnows i aquired. They turned out to be mosquito fish, livebearers that eat moquito larvae. Now my question is, can I ween these guys onto flake food? Or am i gonna have to use brine shrip, tubifex etc...or even collect larvae.

Anyone have experience with a native biotope aquarium?

p.s. check with you rlocal authority before collecting species.

well since they are carnivorous I would stick witha mixture of flake food and and some kind of live food, wether its bloodworms, brine shrimp etc. I would feed the live foods in the morning and at night and a pinch or flake in the afternoon, that should coverall your areas in the food realm I would think lol
