Hi, I have a 3 week old 55 gal tank (I'm into my 4th week now) with 2 angels, 4 zebra dano's, 2 platy, 2 swordtail and 2 cory cats. I've kept my temp at 80 degrees, my pH 8. I figured my tank was starting to cycle because I started to see an ammonia reading. I started to do 25% water changes, but then my water got a bit cloudy. After reading some of the advice I started a 35% water change every other day. Now I had been gravel cleaning to pick up the excess food along with the water changes, didn't see any problem with the fish until this morning. The swordtail were the last 2 fish I had recently added to the tank, one was covered with, what looked liked cob web matter (best way to explain it). He's out of the tank, but on really close look at the cory, I'm noticing a couple of white dots on his facial area. Does this mean ick? And should I start treating the tank or wait and see if anything more developes. Help please.
Thanks,
Kathy

Hiya kathymac and welcome to Aquariumadvice.

Sure sounds like your cory has ich (not sure yet whats going on with the sword). I wrote an article about it, what it is and what you can do; you can find it here: http://www.aquariumadvice.com/showquestion.php?faq=2&fldAuto=32

I'd suggest the heat treatment for you, except I'm not sure if the danios can take it (the others can). It is prob the easiest, cheapest and most effective way of treating ich. Hopefully someone will pop in with a lil more info on the danios.
