I was just wondering... I'm planning on setting up a 30 gallon tank, do I need some sort of air pump to oxygenate the water? How does oxygen get in the water? or any special considerations i need to make?

Welcome to AA!

If you plan on using a HOB filter, the water will be oxgenated via surface agitation of the flow. You can always put an airstone in the tank, though it isn't necessary.

Airstones are for asthetics unless you do not have a hob filter. As JC mentioned they are for surface agitation.

Awsome, thanks for the feedback. That's what i thought but just wanted to make sure.
