A couple of weeks ago I moved my 10 gallon tank down stairs from my daughters room. I took out about 50% of the water to make it easier to move. Since the my nitrite levels have slowly increased. It's at the point where it is quite high. I have been doing about 10% water changes every couple of days but that is not helping. Any advice?

Was the nitrite zero before you moved the tank?
Filter media was left intact during the transition?
At this point just continue to perform water changes to keep the nitrite levels down. You can increase the the WC amount to 25-50% and do them daily as needed.

If nitrite has been increasing then you have had ammonia which I would be much more concerned with.

How are the fish? As fresh says change more water. You just lost the balance in the tank with the move.
