I just set up my 28 gallon in the basement, and I am an avid drum player. The aquarium lies across the room from my set. I am wondering if loud noise will be a problem with the fish? I sure hope not, its a little late to move the aquarium.

Will it problem the fish? hard to tell...

Will they detect the sounds. OH YA.

Water is an excellent carrier of sound and that basedrum in its low frequency is gonna be going right thru the water as if it was not even there.

I would say observe the fish when your playing. If they are acting like normal then your cool. If they are going crazy and acting far from normal then you got possible problems.

What could come out of this? Shortend life span. Problems with desease.

the rooms got fluffy carpetet and a bunch of carpet, its got a low ceiling and drywall. I could also throw a comforter over the tank or somthing when i play. Hopefully it wont stress them out too much.
