just got my tank filled and up and running . 2 brand new A.C 50s and both sound like they are vibrating . any clues ??

1. Is basket hitting lid
2. Motor dirty
3. Propeller damaged or not seated

Lube magnet on propeller

basket not hitting lid

motor is brand new and confirmed free of debris

propeller spins feely until it hits bump / keyway on shaft

lube with what that will not contaminate water ?

I use the same stuff I have for my canister gaskets. I think I found it at dr fosters smith. It could also be rattling on the tank. Mine is a little noisy at times. If it gets too loud I pop the lid off and that generally solves it

I have tried lubing with silicone grease but it seems that the heat of the motor is liquefying the grease going to try Vaseline next . have complaint into hagen will see if they stand behind these noisy S.O.Bs

so after complaining to Hagen they have agreed to send out 2 new impellers to see if that remedies the situation and if not they have agreed to swap out 2 motor / impeller combos . my thoughts are this seems like good customer service .. keeping fingers crossed
