OldCastle.......okay for FreshWater????

Is OldCastle Tropical Play Sand okay to use in a FreshWater aquarium housing a FW stingray?

topic moved since it's Freshwater.

I don't know if freshwater ray's need buffering, but I suspect the sand should be fine. Rinse it first though.

Sorry malkore I have to disagree

The stingray will sift through the sand, raising the buffers and effectively raising the pH. FW stingrays need a pH of 5.9 to 7.2. Look for a quartz based sand that will not affect the water parameters.
