Overstocking a fish tank?

Hi I'm hopefully getting a bristlenose pleco today along with two more angelfish, and I don't want to overstock my 55g tank, so here's what I have so far 5 silver dollar fish, 2 angelfish, 2 Jellybean cichlids, and 1 hoplo catfish. I need help asap as my dad is going to pick them up in a couple of hours.

That sounds fine. What are you using for filtration?

With that kind of over filtration I think you'll be okay

I'd say you are already over stocked, silver dollars get big, angels and 'jelly bean' (aka parrot cichlids) can have serious attitudes, especially if they pair off. I wouldn't add anything more, and you may have problems in the future with the stock you already have

^^This +1 ^^
IMO you need to take into account full grown size of fish.
That and IMO not count gallons but the more important foot print of the tank [1 foot by 4 feet for a 55g]. That's only 4 square feet of tank bottom of surface for those fish..

I had to chuckle when I read that. It happens and you just go bigger and then repoplulate the other tank! LOL. We are in that process now!
