OK, I'm looking to get 5-6 schoolfish. the petsmart near me has a tank of healthy looking black phantom tetras and I've been doing some research and while by most accounts they seem like a great semi-peacefull fish to add to the community tank...I'm reading that theyre more susceptable to fish tuberculosis than most fish? while I'm pretty dilligent about changing water/tank maintenance this is a major turn off. This is really the only tetra that's interesting to me as the rest look like glorified minnows...

Now, they also have a tank of healthy Mickey Mouse platys, are keeping livebearers THAT much of a problem?

Just looking for some advice or suggestions.

If you want schooling fish, then get the tetras. The neon is the only one I've trouble with. I believe they are the most risk for that.

Platys don't school, and watch out for lots of babies.

yeah, I googled tetra tuberculosis and it really only came up with the black phantoms being the TB problem? I suppose I'm just being paranoid but still.
