Pikes and Gars

What is known on the behavior and care of pikes and gars? Has anyone owned any of them, a type of pike or gar?

I have a 7" Marble gar. Pretty much anything that can fit in his mouth is food. I had had in my community tank until I got harlequins lol. Now he is in my 35g community tank with 11 BA tetras and he doesn't bother them.

Awesome when he eats though









They only eat live food and get to <2' I believe.

Both are extreme carnivores and will eat anything else they can catch and fit in their mouth, and both get very large. I raised a gar in a 100gal tank with convict cichlids, and the cichlids were frequently dinner.
