I recently bought a U-Grow Plankton culture kit from Florida Aqua Farms. In the instructions, it says I need to aerate it, but there is no air pump. How do I aerate a 2 liter bottle of water without a pump?

In short, you dont. Proper culturing requires a lot of agitation and proper light.
To grow my phytoplankton that i got from there i use a clip on light, air pump without a stone, and a 2 liter bottle that i stick in a bucket to improve lighting.
That being said, air pumps are super cheap and you dont need anything fancy a small one will work fine.
