plant and sand help (remade)

Last thread I made just disappeared so I'm remaking it.

Does anyone know what plant this is? I couldn't make out the name at the pet store, and does anyone know how Quikrete play sand works in aquariums?

29 gallon
2 Blood Fin Tetra's
7 Glow Light Tetra's
5 Cherry Barbs

I posted on your other thread. Any brand of play sand works but it is very dusty and must be rinsed really well. No idea on the plant.

Alternanthera reineckii? What type of lighting do you have? Play sand is usually dusty and hard to clean as brennae said. Pool filter sand has a larger grain and is cleaner IME.

I used Kwik crete construction sand medium grain. Easy to clean, clean the heck out of it in smallish batches in a bucket with a garden hose, then clean it again, save headache in the long run. $7 Falls to the bottom quickly doesn't float very much.

Also I like Petco's black sand pretty well - soft but doesn't get stuck in the filter.
