Plant bulbs

Has anyone had any experience growing Tiger Lilly from bulbs from petco ? I decided to try it out and opened the plastic boxes before hand to squish the bulbs to make sure they weren't mushy or broke apart and I hand picked 3 of em and put the rest back..

Anyway I have been floating them for 2 days now.. one sank instantly, another sank last night. The last one is floating still.. Should I partially plant the 2 that sunk.. I already did, and i only buried them maybe half way.. Or should I just let them sprout first because I don't want to get them to rot

First time I bought it I got a beautiful tiger lily that got huge and lasted for two years. Second time nothing really grew.
