Hey everyone.

Back in early October, a massive algae bloom developed in my aquarium and it took over a month to disappear.

During that time, I had the lights out for three or four days straight (forget exactly how many days) and did a bunch of water changes, including a couple of massive ones.

The bloom finally cleared a couple of weeks ago, but now, I have noticed my live plants, which were thriving and growing rapidly prior to the bloom, are dying.

Is it possible that all of the water changes I was doing to get rid of the algae bloom killed my plants?

Unlikely. The lack of light and algae are both stressors to plants.

What plants were they?

Ah so you're saying the algae itself may have damaged the plants?

And one of the plants is a wisteria. It thinned out a lot, but I think there is still hope for it because it appears to be growing at the top. The bottom is basically bare, though.

The other, I BELIEVE, is a lysimachia, which has basically withered to nothing.

My Amazon sword and Anubias are fine, save for a couple of brown spots on the sword. I also have an Italian val that is doing alright.

EDIT: And my crypt has developed some yellow leaves.
