I had a female platy with a big belly for a while really didn't think she would be successful but today I was doing a pwc and little plays were swimming around my tank. I don't have a breeder net or a quarantine tank so what is a new fish daddy to do?

You could get another tank or trade the fry in for credit at your fish store.

My platy decided to become pregnant a few months after I go them. I know it was stored because I have all females. But anyway, I was not prepared yet for them to drop so I ran out to petSmart and bought a 2 pack of plastic plants.

Marineland® Springiri & Boxwood Plant Mats - Decorations - Fish - PetSmart

They provide perfect cover for the fry and the rest of my mollies, the Platies and 2 gourami's don't bother them a bit. I was able to finally get a 10 gal up and just scooped out 7 of them. I am letting the rest "fend" for themselves. I also make sure I take pinches of food and put my fingers into the plants so I can make sure the fry are getting food as well.
