Hello there, im new to this!! My pleco died today very suddenly I got him about a year ago, and he hadn't showed any signs of illness. I done a 10% water change yesterday, that I do every 2 weeks. I done the basic water tests, which showed no real concerns. When I found him earlier he looked very whitish and he's scales looked puffed out?? Any ideas would be very grateful.

What else is in the tank?

One of the main causes is poor water quality, 10% bi weekly changes will have led to this IMO.

OP: you really should perform around a 50% water change per week, I perform a 70% PWC (partial water change) and with a pleco the larger the water change the better as they are messy critters...
