Hello there, im new to this!! My pleco died today very suddenly :( I got him about a year ago, and he hadn't showed any signs of illness. I done a 10% water change yesterday, that I do every 2 weeks. I done the basic water tests, which showed no real concerns. When I found him earlier he looked very whitish and he's scales looked puffed out?? Any ideas would be very grateful.

One of the main causes is poor water quality, 10% bi weekly changes will have led to this IMO.

OP: you really should perform around a 50% water change per week, I perform a 70% PWC (partial water change) and with a pleco the larger the water change the better as they are messy critters...
